July 2008TiVo launches in the Australian market with an advertising fanfare on Channel Seven throughout the Beijing Olympics broadcast coverage. Harvey Norman is the first retailer on board.

September 2008JB Hi-Fi and Clive Anthony’s begin to retail the TiVo media device.

December 2008Hybrid TV enhances TiVo DVR functionality with free games and services delivered over broadband as well as the introduction of a free movie of the week service.

February 2009Hybrid TV announces a relationship with Internode - its first Internet Service Provider to provide unmetered downloads to the TiVo media device.

March 2009Hybrid TV announces a new shareholder. Television New Zealand (TVNZ) purchases a 1/3 interest in the business with a view to supporting a successful launch of TiVo in New Zealand for Christmas 2009.

April 2009Through a strategic partnership with Blockbuster, Hybrid TV introduces a full catalogue of 300 on-demand new release and library films available through the broadband connection in the TiVo media device.

May 2009Hybrid TV announces a relationship with iPrimus - a leading Internet Service Provider in Australia to provide unmetered downloads to the TiVo media device.

July 2009The TiVo media device becomes the number 1 selling PVR in the Australian retail market – 1st half 2009: GfK

August 2009The TiVo device begins its retail presence inside Myer Department Stores in Australia.

November 2009TiVo launches in New Zealand under an exclusive retail relationship with Telecom NZ. iiNet signs on as an unmetered partner in Australia.
